Happy Baby-Brain Land

I have gotten nothing accomplished for weeks. Literally, nothing... past daydreaming at least. But I FINALLY got my sewing machine out of the garage (doesn't mean it's set up yet). I also decided on the quilt for Baby Blueberry: I'm going to do a triple irish chain with animals appliqued/embroidered in the "blank" squares. Fulfills my needs for a complicated project, plus my recent bizzare cravings for hand-work. Should be lovely -- I ordered the pattern today and am dragging Shaune to the fabric store on Saturday to pick out cottons.

Oh, and if you don't mind, would you send some prayers my way? Although Baby Girl is doing just fine, I've had some bloodwork for myself come back abnormal. She's sapping my system. My iron's really low and my blood sugar is out of balance. I have to go in for further testing on the 21st. I'm making some changes to my diet now and praying that everything comes out ok after the tests. This "growing new life" thing takes a lot out of you!

Definitely praying for you! I'm diabetic, so I know how draining (and worrying) out-of-balance blood sugar can be! I hope it's something that can be easily resolved :)

Oh, and the quilt sounds lovely! Can't wait to see progress pictures of that :-)

I would recommend taking a liquid iron, like Floradix for the anemia. It will get into your system quicker and doesn't have the nasty side effects of the pills. Praying you can get your blood sugar under control.

I had low iron with Malachi, and for a while after he was born, too. :( I will be praying your tests come back with good results and that this is just one of those little inconveninces of having a new life growing inside! My mom had gestational diabetes with one of my brothers and said she was able to control that by dieting - basically just eating healthier! Which is a good thing anyway!

Will definitely be praying for you! Those babies just love to sap the energy and nutrients out of you. I'm so glad she's doing good, though.

Gillian -- this is reactive hypoglycemia that may have transitioned into diabetes. I have to have more testing -- boo 3hr glucose screen -- so they can get more information. You probably understand how yucky that is.

SAHW -- my dr. suggested a pill to start, but I've heard it's hard on your belly. I'll definately keep your recommendation in mind if these give me issues!

Sarah -- low iron is a joy of life, isn't it?

Amy -- she is doing well :) It'll all be worth it in the end.

Thank you all for caring. It just has me down and bluesy right now.
